Hojicha Tea - Roasted Green Tea

Hojicha is a traditional Japanese green tea that undergoes all the standard green tea processing steps, but with the added step of roasting. Taking all the twigs & older leaves, ensuring low caffeine before getting to the roasting. The process is unique in that the farmers use porcelain & charcoal, retaining a significant amount of the flavor & catechins while reducing the caffeine content. A great tea to enjoy during the fall & winter evenings with the warming effects that it offers, but also for its low caffeine content! The low caffeine is even great for pregnant mothers & children!

The taste of the tea has a toasty front profile, while finishing into a sweet & malty taste on the back end. Again, the tea brings a warming feeling with it that will add to the coziness of a cool Autumn night.
