Every steep is enveloped in Wabi-sabi with this beautiful & symbolic gaiwan. The art as a whole embodies the philosophy of Wabi-sabi, a Japanese way of thought that embraces the "flawed beauty" of nature & art. Holding 6.7floz, or ~200ml, of tea liquor, this gaiwan is perfect for solo tea sessions or intimate tea times with a lover or friend; the cranes symbolize the prosperity & partnership of the former. Having played with many gaiwans, I must say this is my favorite. The lid creates a perfect space for the tea to flow precisely like a yixing teapot. The saucer cradles the cup magnificently, helping stabilize the tea set. My early gaiwans are very loose in their saucer & the lid is a bit tricky, making this a great option for those dipping their toes into the gonf fu brewing style.
